Julia and I have had the privilege to work in Leipzig Projekt Kirche, where we believe that internships are a critical part of preparing the next generation for ministry. As we look toward the future, we recognize that the world is changing, and the context for ministry is becoming more challenging, particularly in secular cultures where church planting can be difficult. It’s our conviction that investing in young leaders now will equip them to navigate these challenges and live out their calling with wisdom and resilience.
This year, we are excited to welcome 8 interns, who will serve with us for either a full year or a few months. It has been incredible to watch them take strides in their understanding of how the Gospel applies to their lives, their communities, and their future roles in ministry. We are especially encouraged to see them grow in their ability to grasp the heart of what it means to serve in ministry, both inside and outside the walls of the church.
For our long-term interns, we’ve developed a curriculum that includes hands-on projects aimed at pushing them to grow in their leadership abilities and ministry effectiveness. These projects help them learn how to contextually teach, disciple, and lead with confidence, and challenge them to think critically about how to live on mission in a world that often does not know the message of the Gospel. We believe these experiences are shaping them into leaders who will have a lasting impact, not only on the church but on the city at large.
We are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside these emerging leaders, and we are confident that the training they are receiving will prepare them for fruitful, enduring ministry. Please join us in praying for these interns as they continue to learn, grow, and step into their roles as the future leaders of the church. Together, we are investing in the next generation of kingdom workers, who will continue to spread the hope of Jesus Christ to the world.
